How to reset my Iphone from my computer, without having to unlock my iphone?
I don't know what i did but my phone won't even unlock now. All that pops up is 'slide to upgrade' and it won't let me slide it or power it off. I try to reset it through itunes but it says i need to put my iphone's passcode in my phone but i can't even get to that point, its like frozen on slide to upgrade. My mom got it to only power off once and it was like a completely brand new phone, it said Hello and then it told me to put in my internet password and all that but after i did, it went back to the lockscreen. Please help, how do i get my phone back without unlocking it or completely powering it off?
Plug in computer. Hold the home and power button down together. Don't let go until a circle with iTunes and a cord appear on screen. This will be shortly after the apple logo pops up. Once iTunes lable is on, go through restoring steps that pops up on iTunes. You might loose everything on phone but might help.
You may have a try to fix this with iTunes Restore, but all the data and settings on the iPhone will be erased before restoration. Your device will be restored to your last iTunes backup.
1. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes.
2. Hold the home button down (on the front of your iPhone) and connect the device to your laptop/PC while iTunes is open. A message should pop up and say that your iPhone is in recovery mode and needs to be restored.
3. Click on your device (in the iTunes windows) along the main toolbar, then go to the Summary tab.
4. Select the restore option.
5. Follow the prompts in iTunes to backup your iPhone settings.
6. Restore your iPhone back to its previous settings.
