How to resotre a jailbroken iPhone 4 and keep my items?

I jailbroke my iPhone 4 recently and HATE IT. It does nothing for me, besides that I can delete the Apple apps. Now, you can do that without jailbreak with the IOS 7 update. But, I can't do that because my phone is jailbroken!

How can I restore it while keeping my contacts and photos? All of my music is on my computer already, so that does not concern me too much, and I have no apps with a lot of important data on them. I have tried to restore from backup and restore from the cloud, but I must not be doing it right, because it stays EXACTLY the same. It basically turns my phone off and turns it back on.

Help! Is there a way I can put my contacts and photos onto my computer and reset my phone?

Directions would be extremely helpful, but if you can, please put it in "dumb" terms, because I'm NOT a tech person.

  • What items will be kept and lost if I got a new iPhone? I have an iPhone 3G and am considering switching to an iPhone 5. Will all my history and files (texts, phone calls, photos, music, notes, etc.) be accessible on the new phone?
  • Should I Update My Iphone 4 To iOS 7 Or Keep It Jailbroken On 6.1.2? I Really Want iOS 7(Even Though Its Still In Beta), Because The Jailbreak Is Taking Up Alot Of Space On My Phone. I Also Don't Use My Jailbreak Much And I Really Like iOS 7.
  • Is it legal to buy items online and sell them? I often go on ebay and buy iPod cases and cords for $99 and even clothes for a couple bucks from Asia. I had an idea but need to know if it's legal to do. For example if I buy 10 of one shirt for $3 each or like 50 iPhone cables for $30, would I be able to sell the shirts for say $10 each or the cables for $5 each here in North America? I meant to say cables and cases for 99 cents not dollars haha
  • Is an iPhone better 'jailbroken' or not 'jailbroken'? I just got the iPhone 5 and I keep hearing about 'jailbreaking' iPhones to be able to do a lot more things. So my question is: Is jailbreaking an iPhone bad? What kind of cool things can I do if I jailbrake it? How do I jailbrake it, if its a good thing?
