How to restore iphone from ios7 to previous ios?

My iphone is on ios7 but it says it can't activate because i'm not a registered developer when i'm. So now i can't use my phone at all and itunes won't let me restore it. Also i can't shut my phone off due to a broken lock button.

Step One
Download the latest iOS 6 firmware for your device from here.

Step Two
Launch iTunes from your dock.
Step Three
Place your device into DFU Mode by following these steps. Here is a full tutorial on how to put your iPhone into DFU mode if you need additional help.

Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time.
Step Four
Once you receive a message telling you that your iPhone is in recovery mode, press OK then select your iPhone from the list of devices in iTunes.
Step Five
Select the firmware file you downloaded earlier from the window that appears and click the Open button.
Step Six
iTunes will go through the process of the restore/downgrade and after about 10-15 minutes, your device will be freshly restored to iOS 6

But here is a trick download ios 6.1.3 for any furtheruse but you can shift -checkforupdates and chose ios 7and pay attention check forupdate not restore… Iwould suggest to go through a restore to ios 6.13 then do this trick

With the broken lock button, the below hints are probably useless for you, as DFU and Restore Modes only work if you have both buttons working. I can register your iPhone's UDID in the dev program for $5, let me know if you're interested.

So if I restore it and iOS 8.4 is now on my phone, will I be able to downgrade to iOS 8.3? But I need accurate answers. Because if I don't this and I can't downgrade then it'll suck!

But anyway I want to restore it to get more space and other reasons. It has IOS 6 on it, when I got to restore it will it go strait to IOS 7? And it's an AT&T model but the note in it said it was unlocked will it mess that up if I restore it or no?
