How to restore my iphone 4s that isn't recognized by my computer?
Ok so my Iphone 4s is about a year old. Its also jailbroken. So my phone doesn't want to connect to my computer or my wall charger (as in, it doesn't charge)
now if i turn off my iphone 4s, then it charges but i still can't connect to my computer.
THE THINGS I HAVE DONE
I have restored my computer to the last time my phone worked with it
i have tried to connect my phone to a different computer
i have changed the wire
i have tested the wires
i have attempted to put my phone in both restore and DFU mode with no success
i have reinstalled iTunes.
i do get a code 43 when i open computer manager
but i can't seem to get it to recognized
now my phone is jailbroken but i haven't had a problem before
i have deleted as much "Updated" information as i could remember but to no avail
i want to update my phone with the update option in the general tab in the settings app
(so it restores through the phone)
but it seems that the jailbreak disables my update function with no ability to re-engage it
any ideas?
and before you say replace it. Or take it to the apple store
i can't… Especially the apple store… Since its jailbroken.regardless it ran out of warranty anyway
It looks like you have tried many things. The only other thing I'd recommend trying is Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase All Content and Settings.
Then try the things you tried before.
Also, there are some stores like authorized att dealers that will accept trade-ins for old iPhones. Best Buy is doing this now with the purchase of an iPhone 5.
- Tmobile sim card can't be recognized in iPhone? I jailbroke and unlocked my iPhone 3GS locked to AT&T, but I'm wanting it to work with tmobile. I put the sim card in but it doesn't get service still. The sim card has a data plan and everything. The sim card is at least 6 years old. Do I need a new one? Or how do I make the tmobile sim care work? I used redsn0w to jailbreak it.
- Problems with iPhone not being recognized on iTunes? My iTunes stopped recognizing both my iPod touch and my iPhone, and I have done everything that I have seen online to do (uninstall and reinstall iTunes, uninstall and reinstall device drivers, change usb ports, change iPod cables, etc.) and my iTunes STILL won't recognize my iPhone. Any suggestions?

- IPod and iPhone isn't being recognized by iTunes? Hi, my iPhone and iPod are not being recognized by iTunes every time I plug it in, I get an error message saying "An iPod has been detected but won't connect. Please reinstall iTunes and try again." So I reinstalled iTunes but the same message came up. I even used the original cord instead of a third-party one but it still wouldn't connect. Any help on what to do?
