How to retrieve deleted voicemails from iPhone?

I have an iPhone 4. I have never backed it up nor did an update (I know ridiculous). I recently received a new SIM card because my old one was "accidentally" deactivated. Upon inserting my new SIM card, I lost all my voicemails. I had ones saved from my dad who recently passed away. As you can about imagine it was devistating. I had been meaning to save them but hadn't gotten around to it and obviously didn't plan this happening. Is there ANY way possible to get these voicemails back? I spent hours on the phone with AT&T and they couldn't help me. I don't understand how they can just be gone all of a sudden. I know it's part my fault for not backing them up. Any help would be more than appreciated!

I'm sorry but no. If a phone is deactivated then you lose it for good. Only texts can exist if they are not deleted but even those are saved nowheres other than the phone. Photo mail, nothing gets saved. Phone companies do not have space to store anything. You VM is gone.

I'm sorry to hear that. But from what I know is that you might not be able to get them back. About a year ago my best friend died and we used to talk all the time and she would leave voicemails for me and I always kept them. And I had pics of the two us and other small things. And one day my parents randomly decided to get new phones and switch companies and I lost everything. I tried all I could to get them back, but I couldn't.

So I'm so sorry this happened. Don't think your the only one this has happened too. Just know that next we all need to save things like that. So don't be upset, trust me, it hurts at first but over time you get over it, and soon know that they are always with you still. No matter what happens.
