How to stop being jealous over stupid things?

My best friend just got iPhone 6.
I try to be happy for her but I can't. I feel so depressed and jealous. I feel like now all she's going to talk about is her new phone and show of. Any advice please?

Jealousy is completely normal. That phone is really nice so I understand where you are coming from. Be supportive and happy for her, even if that takes a couple of days. But, in the meantime adjust your finances slightly or add on a couple odd jobs so that you can affor the phone. Iv'e often found that if I work really hard for something that I want I end up appreciating it way more than the friend who always had everything handed to them with no work. They just aren't as thankful for what they have. Just set your sights on your end goal, set a reasonable time limit, and go for it! You can do it!

Normally being jealous of things like that is an indication that a person feels entitled to more in life than they are actually getting. You should probably take a like at why you feel you are entitled to more than you are getting.

if your friend spends too much time talking about her new phone, just tell her "enough about the phone already"

Perhaps you should find something that you both like such as: makeup, games, or other types of girlie things. These things normally are what friends bond over with each other. It's something that's common ground so that you have something to talk about as friends, but same time not feel jealous over.

Teenagers these days are always wanting the new best thing, and they're always wanting what someone else has, and that's not the kind of attitude to have because being that way isn't going to give you the respect you'd want. Respect your best friend and find something good to talk about with her other than things like phones.

Well, Think about the things that she doesn't have that you have. If she has everything you have, Then think of the things that You have and others don't/Can't have.
