How to stop my iPhone from activating iMessage without me actually asking it to?

How to stop my iPhone from activating iMessage without me actually asking it to?

Go to settings and change sound and notification

Sometimes I get a notification on my phone saying "Your carrier may charge for activating iMessage" which is true - I get charged for an international text every time I do it. The thing is, I don't. I have absolutely NO USE for iMessage! I use Wi-Fi, 4G, facebook messenger, and my carrier provides unlimited texts and calling minutes - iMESSAGE IS REDUNDANT.

The only thing iMessage does is involuntarily activate itself on my phone and I get charged for it. I had to pay extra for my phone bill last month because of this bs glitch and I'm sick to death.

I want to throw this phone off a bridge and never use apple again.

Can somebody Please TELL ME HOW TO STOP iMESSAGE FROM ACTIVATING ITSELF ON MY PHONE!

If it is iPhone 5 Go to Settings, then scroll down until you get to Messages. Click on it. Then iMessage is the first option. Toggle it off. I just did this yesterday

  • IMessage on iPhone 5 not activating? I just got a new iPhone 5 for my daughter, but for some reason, the iMessage doesn't work. It will always just say "waiting for activation". I've tried activating it in many ways, but it still doesn't work. Any suggestions? I should mention that the phone doesn't have a number or plan yet, is that necessary for iMessage?
  • IMessage and Facetime is not activating? For some strange reason, my iMeaasge and Facetime is not activating. It's been like this for two days. So basically, it says "Waiting for activation" once i turn them on. I've tried EVERYTHING. I've reset the network settings, turned airplane mode on and off, and i've reboot the phone may times. I have an iPhone 4 running on iOS 6.1.3. It was working PERFECTLY fine 2 days ago.
  • If I buy an iPhone 4s from verizon, could i use it without activating it with a plan? I'm looking to buy a used Apple iPhone 4s from amazon, but i already have a phone and will only be using it as a replacement for my ipod 4. So what i need to know is will i be able to use the phone (download apps and music and stuff) without getting a plan? I realize i will not be able to use the calling, texting, and data.
  • I've got an iPhone that's damaged, it's insured but does the insurer have the right to send a replacement instead of repairing without asking? I have a 24k good iPhone and it's damadged quite bad (internally). I want to send it to be repaired but am worried the insurer can send me a new phone (standard edition) and keep my limited edition one as it was custom gold plated. I live in the UK and don't know much on the laws around this. If they can't repair it am I allowed to ask for my damadged phone back rather than a replacement sent?
