How to stop my iPhone from automatically transferring them to an iPod?

I own an iPhone 4 (iOS 6.1) logged into my iTunes account. My mum owns an iPod Touch 4 but it's logged into my account so we can just transfer apps I have purchased that might of use to her.

Any purchases or downloads I now make on my iPhone automatically appear on her iPod (I'm guessing due to the fact it's logged into my account) but I would prefer this didn't happen.

Anyone know if there's any way around this? Turn off something? Does it have anything to do with iCloud? Tried Googling and going right through the settings of both devices but can't seem to figure it out.

Yes, it is DEFINITELY icloud. The whole point of iCloud is to stream all of your content across YOUR devices, not your friend's or mother's. This prevents piracy and makes it very inconvenient for people to share content.

You can't "switch off" some features of icloud without switching off all of them - bear in mind that your music and apps aren't on icloud, they're on your apple ID, so you don't have to have iCloud to access your apps on another device.

Backup both your phone and your mother's iPod (NOT THROUGH ICLOUD). Plug the devices into a computer that is synced with them, right click your iphone under "devices" tab.
Click "backup to iTunes" and it should transfer any purchases made on both the iPhone and iPod to the computer.
Now click on your iPhone under Devices, go to "only sync selected songs/apps etc". Then you can choose which apps you want on your phone, and which ones on your mums iPod. Repeat this process for your iPod.
Right click your iPhone and restore, repeat for the iPod. Then check all of the songs you want on your iPhone and Sync. Repeat for iPod.

  • Transferring purchases from iPod to iPhone? I put a cd into my laptop and downloaded it to my iTunes, but it won't sync onto my iPhone. How do I get it to download onto my iPhone? Also is there any way to transfer songs from my old ipod onto my new iphone even though they're on different accounts? I deleted the email that my old iPod account is on a long time ago and when I got my new iPhone, I made an entirely different account…
  • Stop iMessage from opening texts automatically on iphone? Is there a jailbreak tweak that can disable iMessage from opening texts that you have not read automatically? It is really annoying when I open iMessage and I only have one message and it automatically opens the message. Especially since I have read receipts on. Sometimes I do not want to read them yet!
  • Newest iPhone update automatically saves pictures sent in iMessages to camera roll. How do I make this stop? I installed the newest iPhone update the other day and I noticed a bunch of pictures that I took in the messages app and sent via iMessage were saved to my camera roll. This just junks up the pictures I want to save and I have to delete them every time. Is there a way to turn off this auto save?
  • ITunes not Transferring to iPod/iPhone? Every time I plug my iPod or iPhone into my iMac the iTunes doesn't transfer my music or videos from my iTunes onto my iPod or Phone. Any reason why this isn't working? It all syncs and the music or videos that were already on my Phone or iPod will replace themselves but nothing else will get added to it. My iPod has 40.69GB left so I have enough space.
