How to strengthen the iPhone 4 gps for the geocache app?
I recently bought the geocaching app, and it has an accuracy of less than 16 ft, maximum. Is there any way to strengthen that or did I waste $10
Hi, 16ft is about right for any hand held GPS under good conditions. Using a mobile phone sometimes the accuracy isn't all that great but loads of cachers use them without any problems. I prefer to use a Garmin GPS but with a mobile (cell) phone you get the added advantage of google/bing maps. The very best accuracy on my GPS is 14ft but that is under very optimum conditions.
The accuracy of the co-ordinates is only as good as the cacher who placed the cache in the first place, so if their signal wasn't great then the co-ords may be some way out, Just use the clue if your stuck (if there's one).
If your new to caching just remember that nothing is as it seems and that caches can be very well disguised, so a long search is sometimes needed. Look for some easy caches to start on even if they are quite boring. They will gain you experence in using the app.
- What's the best GPS map app for iPhone? I need a GOOD map where I could mark the start point and destination and it would guide me where to go. I've used the iOS map and Google maps and both got me lost!
- What is a good app (on iphone) for setting multiple gps pins on a map? I have google earth pro and have nearly 1,000 pins and i transfered them to my phone and i found out that you can't set a driving gps destination to the pins. Any good iphone apps that i can put lots of pins on and be able to set a gps location?
- What app can I use for gps tracking? I want to track my husband's locations cuz I think he's cheating. All the apps I look at tell me he needs the app on his phone too but he doesn't have an android or iphone. So what app can I use to secretly track his location of his phone? One that works and preferably cheap or free.
- Old GPS or iPhone maps or google maps app? I'm going to drive from IL down to SC and I don't trust my old garmin nuvï 255 nor iphone maps lol:-) GPS update is $50 which I'm not going to spend. So has anyone used iphone maps or google maps app on long distance trips? Or I just better use old gps?
