How to switch from the iphone 4s to the 5 with sprint?

I have the Iphone 4s with Sprint. My friend is selling an Iphone 5 for Sprint and I want to buy it but I don't know how to switch them. Would it be the same as like switching phones if I had AT&T? Like, is there just a SIM card I take out of the 4 and put in the 5? Or do I have to take it to Sprint to switch it?

I guess you just take it back and pay the difference

You'll either have to go to a Sprint store or call Sprint to do an ESN change and you may have to get the SIM card that goes in the 5 since it will be using the new LTE network. It may be reprogrammable or if you choose to go to a Sprint store, they should be able to give you one.
