How to sync IMAP email account with Outlook and iPhone? - 1

I have an webmail account (which is a company email address) that I can access via Outlook and/or webmail browser. The problem is when I delete/read an email on Outlook, it doesn't show as deleted/red on my iPhone.

It works fine when I use the webmail browser and my Phone, but not with Outlook. I'm using Roundcube email program for webmail.

I have tried to set up the account as POP and IMAP, but IMAP doesn't seem to work at all.

Also when I receive emails in Outlook they are deleted from my webmail program and iPhone. I'm pretty sure I need to set up the email accounts in IMAP. They are currently set up in IMAP form on my iPhone and webmail but not Outlook. Outlook just doesn't seem to work with IMAP.

Any help would be much appreciated, as I have tried everything I can think of.

Yes IMAP is the ideal way of going about things however your email provider or work are the ones who allow it or not. If you have a company address they might use exchange. Either way you should contact them since they are the ones that administer it and allow certain access. I run IT support for my company and we don't allow POP or IMAP. They sync via exchange.

You can configure outlook account settings >More settings> Advanced > Delivery > to Leave a copy message on server then OK.
