How to take a cute couple photo?

Ok so my boyfriend and I have finally decided that we're going it almost reveal the fact that we're in a relationship after a year of dating privately in secret. We're both in our last year of school and hardly any if our friends know that we have been together although our families know. We have managed to keep it under wraps for so long that we thought we would take a few cute photos of us together and put them on either of our facebook pages! But we aren't sure what kind of photos to take! My best friend says she will take the photos using my iphone camera if we like.
Any ideas?

A few cute selfies, just smiling
Maybe one or two of you cuddling/kissing etc. (someone else takes the picture
One full length of the two of you going somewhere nice
Sitting on his lap
A group of your friends with you

hope I helped, and congratz: D xxxxxxx

A phone camera is NOT the way to go. These are handy for casual snaps and little else. The right tool in this situation is a DSLR and somebody who knows how to use it properly. A compact or bridge would still be far better quality and more versatile than your phone, but one tremendous advantage of DSLRs over all of these is the instant shutter response. Compacts suffer from lag between pressing the shutter release and the picture being taken. In fact, in skilled hands a DSLR is faster in every way. With this type of photo, as with other changing situations, a split-second delay will miss lots of "decisive moments".

I have shot many romantic sets for couples and a favourite approach is for them to walk around an area, ideally with a mixture of open country or parkland, river / open water, and some town / street life, just talking and looking around. You can position them from time to time if there's a compelling image to be had, but the best shots are candids taken when they just get into each other and the things around them. The majority will be taken from distance with a long lens, but many in close with a wide angle too. You should allow a whole free day for this so nobody is watching the time, and encourage a playful mood rather than concentrating on the "project".
