How to take a good picture at a concert?

I'm going to a One Direction concert soon at Hershey Stadium. (don't judge) and i'm sitting at the back section.

I called the venue and they told me that we aren't allowed to bring DSLRs. So I can't take good quality zoomed in photos.

How do I take decent pictures at the concert? It starts at 7:30 so it'll be dark. I'm bringing my iPhone and a not so good Canon pocket camera.

Any tips or advice? Anything will do tysm!

Can't take the DSLR? Then a DSLR like point and shoot would be good. If its just your phone, hopefully your phone is good enough. Otherwise, just forget about taking pictures and instead take a video with the phone and enjoy the concert.

Yeah, leave the cameras at home and enjoy the concert.

Figure out how to turn off the sound and flash before you go. The manuals are on free download all over the internet.

Try to lean your camera on something like the seat in front of you or pull your knees up and use them. You might want to also try to read the manuals and find "EV compensation." Your Canon has it, and set it to -2 or -3. If you don't you'll have every picture way too bright and blurry to boot.

And lastly, don't be a douche about it. You are there to enjoy the concert like everyone else. Noone likes the guy flashing their camera from the back row and walking in front of everything. Take pictures if you want but be respectful to yourself and everyone you have the opportunity to disrespect.

  • What should I bring to my one direction concert? I'm planning on bringing my iPhone and digital camera in a very small side bag. Is that a good idea? And how much money should I bring. Please only serious answers. Don't comment if you just want to diss one direction.
  • What if i can't print my concert tickets? I'm not able to print concert tickets for warp tour, but i have the file on my iphone, it clearly shows my tickets and the barcode, will i be able to let them scan that/would they?
  • What cameras are best for concert photography? I love going to concerts but my iphone camera is just not too good at taking photos at concerts. Is there any cheapish cameras that are good at taking photos and or videos at concerts?
  • Things to do before a concert? I'm 12 and I'm going to a concert next year on July 8th and all my cousins (I'm the youngest) have a tradition that in the year running up to the concert you need to make a list of 15-20 things to do and complete them before the concert or you have to pay 25% of the next concert ticket price and including me there are 13 of us. Really don't want to pay too much for the tickets next time because I'm saving up for an iPhone.
