How to transfer a video file from iPhone to MacBook without an Internet connection?

IIm out camping and my children are chomping at the bit, on our way home it's going to be a long car ride, I have downloaded a movie into my iPhone when I was at the house. However it's a small screen, is there any ways I can just transfer the movie file onto my MacBook WITHOUT using Wi-Fi? Just to clarify I don't want to download the movie AGAIN from the internet I just want to copy the Movie file I already have on my phone to the MacBook so it can be watched there. I know with android devices you can just open up the file itself but you know, Apple has to be So MUCH MORE SECURE! Go **** yourself Apple, honestly lol.

No. You can't "transfer" (read "copy") files from the iPhone without third-party software. The sync process copies all movies from the Mac's iTunes to the iPhone. It does not copy anything from the iPhone to the Mac. This is a great time to mention that the Mac is faster at downloading full-screen movies than the iPhone, so just get into the habit of always downloading by Mac and then sync to the iPhone.

Stop at a Starbucks along the way to connect to Internet and get iExplorer or PhoneDisk:
http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/ (iExplorer, free, for OS 10.6 or later)
https://www.macroplant.com/phonedisk/ (PhoneDisk, free for OS 10.5 Intel)

BTW, this is not about security. It's about the storage on the iOS device is not Mac format.

Try getting them to run a three mile across-the-hills race a few hours before you start home. They will be less rowdy after that. Another option is the license plate game. http://www.minitime.com/trip-tips/10-Best-Car-Games-for-Kids-article
