How to transfer apps from iphone 4 to iphone 5?

I have backed up the data from my iphone 4 and when setting up my iphone 5, chose the 'restore from back up' option. However, even after multiple tries, none of my apps were actually transferred. Everything else, like contacts, text messages, were.

Plug them both into your computer using usb. In itunes, you can sync your music and apps and all that stuff. Then you should be able to just transfer from itunes to iphone.

Plug your iphone 4 into your computer, open itunes, download everything on your phone to itunes, but normally itunes saves it as soon as you buy the apps.anyway, make sure everything is in your itunes then plug your iphone 5 in and sync it
i don't know if this is possible but you can try and see if you can change the sd card from your iphone4 to the iphone 5
