How to transfer music from iPhone to Macbook Pro?

My computer recently crashed and I THOUGHT I had backed it up but apparently it didn't work so I lost everything within the last year and now my iTunes library has nothing in it. I want to transfer all my music from my iPhone (which is synced with the iTunes library that is now gone) to my new iTunes library. But when I try to do that it asks if I want to erase my iPhone and sync with the music on my computer? I don't want it to erase the music on my iPhone, I want to put the music from my iPhone to my computer. Is that possible to do?

If possible, find out how to jailbreak your device and using Cydia apps like iFile or SSH or anything similar, you may be able to transfer your music from device to computer. I'm not sure if there's a way to do it without jailbreaking since I'm speaking from experience of my iPod Touch and this was a while ago, but the jailbreaking should work as long as you don't have to restore it or anything. Just YouTube how to jailbreak your iphone and make sure you have the right firmware for the jailbreak.

Hi, it's easy to transfer music from iPhone to MacBook Pro with 4Videosoft iPhone to Mac Transfer Ultimate, which is able to transfer music, photos, movies, etc from iPhone to Mac or iTunes for backup. Besides, it will not erase anything on your iPhone and it just transfers the music that you've selected before click "Transfer" button. Try it and you'll find out it's very easy to fix your problem. Have a good day!

"my iTunes library has nothing in it"

Have you tried the transfer-purchases option in iTunes?

" I want to transfer all my music from my iPhone (which is synced with the iTunes library that is now gone) to my new iTunes library"

Why don't you just sign in under the old iTunes account and have your purchases from iTunes downloaded there? Your question says nothing about that.

"when I try to do that it asks if I want to erase my iPhone and sync with the music on my computer?"

Then doing that would be a bad idea.

In 3 years w/my iPod I've never erased old music putting new music on - just used "manual management" in iTunes. It works on devices old and new.

  • Transfer iPhone music/photos/apps onto new Macbook Pro? I just purchased a Macbook Pro yesterday and I plugged my iPhone 5 into it and was expecting the music to be automatically transferred to my computer, but that did not happen. How do I transfer my music/photos/apps onto my macbook? The computer I had previously used for iTunes is gone and unable to use.
  • Transfer apps from iPhone to Macbook Pro? Is there a way to transfer apps from my iPhone 5 to my Macbook Pro? So I will not have to repurchase them? (e.g. I have Pages on iPhone but not Mac, would I be able to download it again for free?) Thanks in advance Also, when I go into the Mac App Store, Pages is still available only for the paid price? I assumed it would just say "Download" or something. I mean the Mac equivalent of the iPhone apps, but just wondering if I can get them free?

  • IPhone 4 to Macbook Pro music transfer? I have an iPhone 4, and I just recently received my Macbook Pro with Retina Display. Because my old laptop is too dysfunctional, and freezes every time I try to do a music transfer from that laptop, I have to find other means of music transfer. I'm looking for a FREE program that I can download that will transfer my music (and movies, audiobooks, etc) from my iPhone 4 to my new Macbook. So far, every program I have tried doesn't register that my iPhone is even connected.
