How to turn on iphone 4s map

When i go to turn it on its like invisible and won't let me turn it on… My maps can't not find my current location and thats what i want it to do just incase i'm lost.
my map does work but i have to know EXACTLY were i'm to find out where to go. Can someone help me figure out why i can't turn this on

Try downloading the free mapquest app, its really good and has turn by turn directions, etc.

I have the YP app where you can look up places and would click 'get directions' and it would take me to Maps which would then put a red pin where I was currently, a green pin where I wanted to go, traced three possible routes in blue, and had a blue pin (me) that would show me where I was along the route. I NEED THIS BACK! Is there any map app that will do this for me again?
  • What is a good free iphone map app that will allow me to view locations saved at home? I have tried bing maps, but according to Microsoft, you can't view saved locations on your phone. Same goes for Google. I can't believe no one allows this! Is there one out there where i can set points of interest and/or plan a driving route on my home computer, log into my account from the app, and view/get directions from?
  • What iPhone map app can work offline? I'm going on vacation abroad, and I'm gonna need maps loaded on my iPhone 4. Having known that the native Maps app on iPhone doesn't load maps without Wi-Fi or without cellular data (which is expensive abroad), I need an app that can have maps loaded. I know Maps can have the whole route loaded but not zoomed in, but when it comes to cities, it is necessary to have a map that loads when you zoom in, to see intersections and such.
