How to turn the 'read' thing off on the iPhone iOS 6?

I updated to iOS 6.0 on my iPhone and I accidentally clicked yes for the feature where it shows another iPhone user if I've read their message or not. It says, for example, 'Read 9/27/12' It either gives the date or time, similar to the 'Seen' feature on Facebook. So if anyone knows a way to turn it off on the iPhone, it would be much appreciated!

Settings > Messages > Send read receipts > off

  • Why did my iphone 5 turn off and not turn on after a ios 6 update? I have tried everything it won't show its charging i tried holding down the power and home button but that won't work, the screen is just black and won't do anything. I even tried plugging it into my laptop and that won't work either How do i put it in DFU? I hook it up to my comp and nothing happens at all. Nothing pops up on my comp and my phone won't turn on at all

  • If I read a iphone text on the home menu will it say i read it? I don't want someone to know i read a text but i saw the text on the unlock screen on my iphone will it say i read it or is that only if i read the text after unlocking the phone?
