How to unlock an iPod/iPhone from a computer?

I found my old iPod touch when moving house and I wanted to see what it was like (out of pure curiosity) but it won't let me open, the bar moves about half way along then jumps back to the start. The screen is smashed and it got water logged, this is not a new problem and it happened before I ditched it. Basically, I want to know whether there's any programme I can download or just any way I can unlock my iPod while it's plugged into my laptop.

So basically I took my laptop in for repair and they installed a new operating system so everything was erased, including my itunes library. How do I sync to a new computer without losing music? I do not have copies and did not purchase the music from ITunes.
  • My computer USB port won't recognize my iPod but it recognizes my iPhone? Hi! Ok so I have a dell 15' laptop that's barely a year old and my USB port will accept my iPhone and flash drives, but not my iPod classic. I know for sure it's not my iPod since it was recognized on my moms computer and its not the cord because I've tried several different iPod cords… It doesn't seem to recognize my moms iphone 4 either! So if anyone knows how to fix it please please please help!
  • Is there an iPod 5 case that makes the iPod look like an iPhone? I hate the curvy shape of the iPod touch. I prefer the boxy iPhone shape. Also, it would be cool if my iPod looked like an iPhone. Is there a case that does this? Where can I get one?
