I was given a iphone that was suppose to be unlocked. I have a virgin mobile iphone and when I try to put my Virgin Mobile sim card in, the iphone says sim card locked. How to unlock/jailbreak the iphone for free

If you're referring to Virgin Mobile USA, they are a CDMA carrier and their SIM cards will not work in an unlocked GSM phone.
