How to upload music from a cd onto my iphone?

I bought 2 cds recently, and uploaded one of them to my Itunes account. It worked fine, and when I synced my Iphone to my computer, the music transferred. Then I downloaded the new Itunes update and downloaded IOS7, and I tried to upload the second CD. The music appears in my itunes library, and will play from there, but when I hook up my phone and go into the "On This IPhone" section, the songs appear, but in gray instead of black, and they can't be played, and are not uploading to my phone.

Before you ask, in the "Music" section, "Sync Music" is checked, as well as "Entire music library." I upload all of my music to my phone, not just selected songs. And even if this were the problem, all of the new songs are checked as well so they would upload. The music appears in the library, it is just gray instead of black and won't play. And it does not appear on my IPhone.

I just tried to sync it again, and this time, the songs from the first cd went gray also. Now neither CD works in Itunes. I'm not entirely sure what to do…

Don't sync. Use manual management. That's what I use and I never have any of these problems. It's simple and is a better way to put music on your phone.next if you haven't restarted your computer since you updated iTunes do that now. If you're still having problems exit and restart iTunes.

Make sure you have copies of your music files backed up on CD or flash. If iTunes doesn't keep copies of hour CD files on your computer then don't use it to rip music from a CD. Instead use Windows Media Player to rip to MP3. If hour computer is lost or stolen or needs to be reformatted or you need to replace it or the HD - in any of those situations its much easier to pop in a CD or a flashbdrive and copy the song files to your newer computer than to do fve same from an iPod or other Apple device.
