How to use GiffGaff on iPhone 5?

I'm wanting an iPhone 5 and I'm wanting giffgaff.

How do I go about this?

Do I have to buy the phone outright from apple, then add the SIM? Or buy it on a contract from apple and then get it unlocked?

As giffgaff only supply simcards, plus calls, texts and data (not phones) you will need to buy the iPhone 5 outright for full retail price. You can get it from an Apple Store, or somewhere like Currys, Argos, etc, on a sim free basis. Don't buy one locked to a network, unless it is locked to O2, as if it is locked to another network, eg Vodafone, the giffgaff sim will not work in it.

Unlocked phones, sim free phones, and phones locked to O2, are the only ones that work on Giffgaff, as Giffgaff uses the O2 network.

If you buy it on a contract, you will be paying twice - once for the contract allowance, and again for using your Giffgaff sim.

I topped it up £15 and got the 400 mins and Unlimited texts and Internet package as i always do. I'm planning to get iPhone 4s on pay as you go with the GiffGaff sim, pay as you go. what if I did not pay this month therefore no text/calls/internet for iPhone 4s. Will I still be able to use Wi-Fi? Does it have a limit or whatsoever? Or I can't use it at all as giffgaff does not provide this (does it have to?)?
