How would I make a home media server with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS?
The image has my computers stats. I want to make a home media server that would allow me to stream videos, music and files to other computers on the same network. Not just Ubuntu computers, but Windows PCs, iPhones and Android phones. Is this possible? And if so, how would I go about doing it? I know some basic C++ and HTML, but other then that, I'm a complete n00b. Thank you ahead of time for your answers. And in case you can't see the image, the specs are:
Memory = 3.8 GiB
Processor = Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU T4300 @ 2.10GHz x 2
Graphics = AMD
OS Type = 64-bit
Disk = 310.8 GB
Use Plex. Its available in the Software Center.
- What features would people want in a social media application? I'm developing an android and Iphone app which is like Snap Chat. Would anybody suggest any features which they want in the application. I will read all the feedback which i receive and add as much as i can. I will give you alpha and beta to you all who answers. If you wanted i can make a special contribution list on the app which states you helped with the app.
- Server unavailable - can't access server - iPhone? Just wondering if anyone is having server issues? I've been unable to log on on my iPhone in about a week now. Keep getting 'server unavailable - please try again later' or 'can't access server'! I can access it if I go through safari app tho. Any advise would be great. Cheers
- Putting music on iphone 4s using ubuntu? So i'm running ubuntu on my laptop so don't have itunes and can't get itunes on there. I'm just wandering what i can use to put music on my iphone 4s. I tried banshee but won't work with my phone although i managed to put music on my sisters ipod using it. Just wanted to know if anyone else knows what i can use to do it? And i can't reinstall windows on to it as i don't have a disc.
