How would you edit an iphone's software directly?

If I wanted to change some things about my iphone and put in my own little twist on it, how would I do it? For instance, I might want to improve Siri in my own way, it would make sense that you would copy the program to notepad or some other program, change what you want to change, and put it back in the phone, but how would you do it?

You can't. Apple doesn't want anyone to mess around with iOS, so they heavily lock it down. That's why you can't really customize much on an iOS device. If you look back all the way from 2007 til now, iOS has remained fairly similar in terms of icon layout.

Apple will never allow this. The only possible way that you can customize your device is if you jailbreak. That comes with risks (nothing serious enough that a simple restore can't fix), and will void your warranty(again, restore will fix this).

Also, if you do jailbreak, you can't just copy things over to your computer and open them in Notepad and expect to modify them in whatever way you want. You have to be very good at what you want to do. Siri uses Apple's servers for most of it's content, so you can't just magically gain access to the servers and do what you want.

To you, it may make sense that you can just copy the program [Siri], but what if I told you that Siri has tons of other files that it uses? Siri is heavily embedded in iOS, so you would need to be able to reverse engineer it, and a bunch of other things to do what you want.

You would need to fine sll the spp related files, recompile them, learn whatever programming language they are made in and write the new code. Then recompile. Except you can't as you need a brain to do that and your later illegal qyestion proves you do not have one.
