HTC One- Want to move over from an iphone?

I have been completely impressed with the HTC One from what I've seen of it. I've been on iphone for the last 2.5 years and it's starting to feel stale. I'm fully integrated into icloud for backups and itunes match for music (i have over 20GB of music i'd like to store in a cloud). I primarily use my phone for texting, business (exchange and gmail support needed), games, and internet. If I go android i for sure will be utilizing NES emulators for all my roms. I'd like to have better file management and seperation from itunes. I've never used android.

How complicated is the switch from iphone to android? How is the cloud storage options? What basic information do i need to know before considering a switch?

PS. Don't make this an android/ios bashing thread as they usually become.

Well first, I wouldn't know why anyone would bash Android or iOS. They're both amazing operating systems!

Second, you should know that Apple iCloud will not work with your HTC. Of course you could hook your iCloud to your computer to gain access to anything you have placed on it, but you will not be able to directly from an Android.
You should move all of your contacts to your SIM card, which will instantly transfer your contacts to the new phone when you place your SIM into it.

With Android, they use Google Drive as the cloud. The prices for Google Drive are

5GB Free
25 GB $2.49
100 GB $4.99
200 GB $9.99
400 GB $19.99
1 TB $49.99
2 TB $99.99
4 TB $199.99
8 TB $399.99
16 TB $799.99

(As a monthly rate). I assume you would choose the 25 for $2.49 a month.

On your iPhone, you can download from the App Store the Google Drive application. You can quickly upload any quick files, that will be instantly available on the Drive once you sign in on your Android.

It isn't that hard to switch from iOS to android, but you will have to take some time and start "moving" from iOS/apple to android/Google.

First step: make a gmail account you will need it for many Google services that i will list in this answer.

1.take your files in the cloud (not your backups just your media files) and put them on your computers hard drive.
2. Move all the files (except for the music, i will get to that later) to Google drive ( https://drive.google.com/...ogle.com/) 5gb of free storage and expendable, if you want more, make an drop box account and put the less important files on there.
3. About your music.
Find where all your mp3s are and use google music to upload them to the cloud( https://play.google.com/...com/music/ ) 20.000 songs storage and direct streaming with the Google music app available in the play store. And if you want you can make them available offline, again, with the play music app from Google.

4. You can then, when you have your htc, download the files from your google drive and dropbox account to your mobile, OR just move them over with the usb cable that comes with the phone.
It will take some time to move from iOS to android but overall its very refreshing.
