I accidentally sprayed flea & tick spray on a CD I wanted to clean. I tried washing it all off with water, then letting it dry. Wut do i do?
Normally, spraying all purpose, or water, on a CD that skips cleans it perfectly. Yet, I grabbed the wrong sprayer today. Not to sound ungrateful, but the CD is no longer made, nor is the song available on iTunes, or FYE mix & burn.
I'd do almost anything to get this CD working again. Any suggestions, other than 'let it go', are greatly appreciated. Hope you are having a nice day.

Wipe it again with warm water to try to remove the chemical residue.
The chemicals in the flea&tick spray obviously damaged the top (label side) of the CD. The label is made of a multi-layered composition, and its the bottom layer, against the plastic disk that is the actual recording medium. Sad to say, but if your CD isn't working now, it's content is probably lost forever.
If there still is an oily residue on it then you would just use some dawn dish soap and water and dry with a lint free cloth. Otherwise if the top layer is peeling away then it's been completely destroyed.
There are two things that might be doing this. One is fixable. If the flea and tick spray is oil-based, as many are because the active ingredient(s) dissolves best in oil, then you need to remove the oil with a grease-cutting detergent, as someone already said.
If the active or inactive ingredients involve isopropyl alcohol, you're done. Alcohol destroys plastic and nothing you do will recover what's on it.
Flea and tick spray should not have harmed your CD in the least put a drop of dish soap on your CD and use hot water on it and then blot it dry with a clean white towel.
Use premoistened lens cleaning towelettes to clean the residue off. Only wipe from center outward.
If this doesn't work, check a local used record shop or Amazon.
