I'm fourteen and grounded any alternative punishments?

I'm fourteen and i'm grounded. Knowing my parents it will probably be for a couple of months. They did not tell me when it would stop. This week is homecoming and the game is on Friday. So I obviously won't be able to go. My iPhone is also taken and I want that back as well. The homecoming dance is in 2 weeks and i won't be un-grounded by that time. Since this is my first formal dance, I would really like to go. My parents said that they are open to any other suggestions than grounding and taking the phone. I need suggestions! Something that won't be too painful for me but will convince them that it is better than grounding!

Do chores for a week or month depending on what you did. Or no allowance for a month something in that area? I don't know what the reason was you were grounded but maybe those two will work.

Well, you did something wrong. It is part of life to take responsibility for our sins. You deserve the punishment, but maybe they could just let you go to the dance? Maybe ask them to start the punishment after the dance?
