I'm freaking out about my iPhone 4?

I'm right now updating iOS 7. But I forgotten to back up the files.
I'm freaking out because I don't know what will happen if it goes wrong.
If it goes wrong, will I be able to format it back to iOS 6? (I'm not bothered if I loose stuff)

Added (1). I'm updating it through phone. Not on iTunes. And I live in England.

Apple will not let you install anything but the newest firmware. If you are doing it over the air on your phone or through iTunes it should not have any issues.

At most you will get a communication error and have to try again. It is best to leave the iphone alone during this time.

  • Why is everyone freaking out about iOS 7? Why is it so special? I keep hearing all about it all over the Internet. I do have an iPhone but I don't think I'm going to get the update because it seems kind of stupid and I don't have 3gb free to download it.

  • I'm getting so freaking frustrated? Okay so I just got my iPhone 6 from sprint and ecerytime I'm on the phone I can't access to my internet. Why? Like I'm on the phone and the (LTE, 3G, 4G) sign comes off and once I hang up it starts working again! Why? What do I have to do?
  • My Iphone is freaking out Ever since I went on a jog with it last night, my Iphone 4's lock button won't work, but the phone keeps locking by itself every once in a while (like something is holding down the lock button). What do I do? I need help. If I absolutely have to take it in, I will. But I want to know if its a simple fix or not.
