I'm trying to use my hotspot from my iPhone for my laptop and it won't connect?
The computer is a Dell Latitude D600 and I'm using a D-Link plug in. The phones Wi-Fi is showing up but when I click connect, it says "Windows is unable to connect to the selected network. The network may no longer be in range. Please refresh the list of available networks, and try to connect again."
It shows full service on both the phone and computer and the phone is right next to the computer. Any ideas?
Do you have a Bluetooth chip in the computer to connect to the phone?
I've found Bluetooth chips (Dell brand, even) on eBay to upgrade my laptop (a D630) and I've found USB plug-in Bluetooth adapters for a little higher price (but a lot easier to install - no need to get under the keyboard).
I've never used a cell phone as a hotspot - but I would expect there to be some kind of connection - and if the Wi-Fi isn't working, then a tethered connection or a Bluetooth connection would be another option.
The dialog box that appears should display a list of networks that are available in your area, along with information about security and the signal strength. If it isn't displaying any Wi-Fi networks, check that the drop-down list at the top is set to All. Select one of the networks and click Connect. And check the settings.
- Will it cost me if I use 'personal hotspot' from my iphone to my laptop? I have an iphone, and my Wi-Fi just went down so I was wondering if it would cost to use that 'personal hotspot' thing onto my laptop because I want to watch netflix, and in not doing it on my phone (screens small) Oh and I have unlimited data (3G) and my providers I think are EE.
- Why won't my xbox 360 connect to the internet but will connect to my iphone hotspot? Ill play cod bo2 almost daily and my xbox will connect to my mobile hotspot on my iphone 4s fine, but out of no where it will lag out and disconnect me from xbox live, its not a hardware issue everything connects normally, full bars and everything the phone still lets me get on the internet, but my xbox will not, why D:?
- Why won't my iphone hotspot connect to my wii? I have an iphone 5 and I keep trying to connect it to my Nintendo wii with the hotspot, but every time I input my password and I keep getting error code 51330 which means my password is wrong, but it's right! I know it is, I have put it in several times and changed it. Whenever I do something or mess with settings the error code changes.
- Why can't my desktop connect to our Wi-Fi at home but does connect to moble hotspot? Suddenly my desktop won't connect to our Wi-Fi. All other devices such as laptops, phones and tablets connects just fine. I tried connecting it to my iphone's hotspot and it works. I tried to unistall and reinstall the wireless adapter but still won't work. I also tried to reboot the router and even tried to change the channel but still failed to make it work. Do you have any other way to make it work? I have windows 7 on my desktop.
