I bought an iPhone 4 and iTunes won't recognize it?
So my iPhone is the 4g 8 gigabyte model. I brought it home to add songs to it. I plugged it into my computer but iTunes wouldn't recognize it. I searched around for answers and I saw that I should have iTunes 10.7 before I set up my iPhone. So I went to download iTunes but there's an error that occurs during the installation. When I have it plugged in to the computer, it properly charges, and detects that its plugged in, only not on iTunes, So the cable is fine. Is there a different way I should Connect it, or is there another way to download iTunes 10.7? Any help is appreciated, thank you!
Added (1). Also, an error message pops up that says something like, "The iTunes library file can't be saved. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation."
I restarted my computer and that didn't seem to help, either.
I had the same problem also. But all I did was deleted anything that had to do with itunes and re-installed. Then It worked.
First off, this is a well written question - thanks for including details normally left out by others with this problem.
As to your answer, I doubt that having an older version of iTunes would be a problem - at least unless your iPod has the latest iOS. My 3rd Gen iPod has iOS 5.1.1 and connects just fine.
Did have this same problem about a year ago, I just restarted my computer (rebooted, not formatted) and when iTunes restarted, it saw iTunes.

- Why won't my iTunes recognize my iPhone 5c anymore? My iTunes used to always recognize my iPhone, even my laptop right away had something pop up for it when I plugged it in. - Itunes won't Recognize my new Iphone 4? I currently have a 3GS and i bought a brand new 4 from AT&T. Itunes won't recognize the new phone but still sees my old one. I have tried everything on the apple support site, reinstalled iTunes, and checked the Apple Mobile Support driver or whatever under services. I'm using windows 7 and my iTunes is the most current one available. What can I do?
