I bought an iPhone 4S but having some issues?

So I bought an iPhone 4S the other day from a kid, it didn't seem sketchy so I went for the bargain. When I turn the iPhone on it was locked and everything, so I'd figure it's an easy fix to restore it. But as soon as I restored it and everything turns out that the iPhone is linked to an Apple ID. I'd figured the guy forgot to log out so I asked if he could then ended up telling he found it and sold to me. -.- so my question. Is there a way to remove the Apple ID that it's linked to so I can start using it? It has the iOS 7? I don't know I just want to use it. I didn't know it was stolen. I feel bad but i don't know… Help?

It sounds like this phone was lost or stolen and has iOS7 activation lock enabled.

If that's true, then there's no way to activate or use the phone unless you know the password of the Apple ID on the phone.

This is why you don't buy phones from just random people you don't know. The only places I would buy a used phone would be from an actual phone store or eBay - places where you have a good chance of getting your money back if there's a problem.

Congratulations on becoming the owner of stolen goods. Either mention the seller's name to the police or put it down to experience.
