I can't connect to the internet with one of my computers
One of my computers just won't connect to my wireless internet anymore, but my iphone and laptop still have fine connection. My computer can still "see" the network, and sometimes it will connect for a few minutes, only to lose connection again.
I've tried restarting everything, and replugging all the cables and so on. I've also tried changing the network frequency several times. It can still connect to other networks, so I really have no idea what is wrong.
Can anyone here help me?
Added (1). I tried doing as you said, Chris. But when I tried to reconnect again, it didn't ask me what kind of network it was (as it should, I remember that happening before when I connected to new networks), it just said "You can't connect to this network".
In your wireless network settings, disconnect completely from the network. Remove the network from your wireless connections list (your wireless card model settings may vary, so I can't give specifics, but it will be something like "remove" or "delete"). If it asks do you want to remember the settings, say no!
Now refresh your wireless networks list (should be a refresh option). It should reappear on the list, re-add it to your system (you'll need the security passphrase, or may have to push a button on the router at the time you are adding it to get the security connection, refer to your router documents).
Now the critical part, once it's added, it should pop up and ask "what kind of network is this". Choose either "Home" or "Work" (work will be the most "open" option). If you choose "public" it will restrict yoru internet access, which is likely what happened. Sometimes it changes itself automatically when losing and reconnecting itself, and causes this problem.
I've got a few options that might work:
1. Restart the Internet - go to 'start' > type in 'internet options' > press enter > from the 'internet options' window click the 'advanced' tab > from the 'advanced' tab click 'reset' > once all the 'reset processes' are complete close everything related to the internet (all browser windows etc.) and then re-open the internet.
2. Update the driver for your network adapter - go to 'start' > type 'device manager' in the search box > press enter > in device manager look for 'network adapters' > click the arrow to expand the network adapters > right click on the network adapter displayed > click properties > from the properties window click the 'driver' driver tab > and finally click 'update driver' - hopefully Windows finds and installs the latest driver, if it does restart the computer and test your connection again - you could also check manufacturers website for an updated driver.
3. Reboot Modem/Router - Even though you said that you've unplugged cables, unplug the power cable on your modem/router and leave it unplugged for roughly 2 minutes (30 seconds minimum), when the 2 minutes is up plug the cable back in and wait a couple of minutes again for the modem/router to boot back up - if your modem and router are separate, plug the modem in first, wait for it to fully boot back up (all light are green etc.) and then do the same for the router.
4. You may have a faulty network adapter - unfortunately this sounds like the most likey cause of your problem. If you do have a faulty network adapter it will need to be replaced, if it is an individual card attached to your motherboard it should be relatively cheap and easy to replace (just ask in you local computer shop); if the network adapter is built onto the motherboard, you'll have to spend a fair bit more as you will need to replace the whole motherboard, in this case it would be best to take it to a local computer repairer and see what they have to say.
5. Forget about cables and go wireless - this is not exactly fixing the problem, but could save a lot of annoyance. Buy a USB wireless adapter for your computer and connect to your wireless network - simple:-)
Hope one of these options helps - good luck:-)

- Two different computers, two different iTunes.can I use the same Apple ID? I have iTunes on my computer that I use for my iPhone, and my mon just got an iPod Touch and wants me to fill it for her. I'm going to use her computer to do this, which currently does not have iTunes. Once I download iTunes, can I use my own Apple ID to download songs and apps onto her iPod? Is it possible to do that without disturbing what's on my phone, or do I have to make a whole new iTunes account for her?
