I don't want my iPhone anymore? - 1
So I'm 16 and going to be a junior and lately I've been trying to live more simply. I don't agree with the world obsessing over technology these days and missing out on life itself. I was thinking of giving up my iPhone and going back to just a basic phone. I'm really just looking for people's opinions about this and please be respectful.
You can give it to me me.
Why would you want anything less superior? I mean you can read newspaper, cheat on tests, convert values and many other useful things.
Unless of course, you're only using your phone to play angry birds and calls.
Basic phones usually don't drain the battery life as much.
So yeah, it's acceptable? It's your preference, really.
I think it's nice and respectful of you, to just live more simply, Katy. But the question is why did you ever get an iPhone then? I would ask your parents or friends about their opinion too. But at the end of the day, it's your iPhone, so it's your decision! And it is really respectful to live more simple!
Hope this helped
I find these new touch screen phones too bulky and power hogs, they're not eco friendly. Getting a basic phone with buttons wouldn't be such a bad idea. Nokia still makes them, hope you can get a phone you like.
Same here, phones and texting and other social networks are all ruinin your lives, there are articles that discuss how texting can misinterprets ones actual meaning on the words. I think iPhone isn't bad, but you don't want to be staying home all day texting Facebook and video games. Go out and see what you can do in this modern world. Appreciate nature. And find adventure!
I got rid of my local landline and just use the iphone only now.
I would say i support you on it. People above 25 something hard to get rid of a smart phone due to work or social relationship etc. You are only 16, your life is maingly about study and fun. There are many ways to be helpful for your study or to have fun. You don't need to build up your life on a smart phone yet. But my advice would be, if you get rid of cellphone but you still want to catch up with the latest fashion/news and stay close with your friends, you might need to do that by some other ways, for example, to date your friends, writing letters, visit them at home, reading hardcopy newspaper, joining some sport clucb etc. So it would not make you like you don' have smart phone and then you are behind of the world or stay away from your friends. Maybe you will find you are living in a brand new world!
Whatever choice you make is totally up to you. I certainly will respect that. If you choose to give up your iPhone, you may wish to consider donating it to a charity:

As a suggestion, try not to use your iPhone for anything other than making calls or texting for a week. That way, you can test out life without all the smartphone extras before making the final decision on whether you will give it away.
If your parents got it for you, I would talk to them first. If I was a parent and my child just gave up a iPhone that I spent a lot of money on, I would be upset.
- I want an iPhone 4s but don't want to pay alot monthly? We have a family plan with 4 dumb phones through Verizon. I want to upgrade to an iPhone 4s. I would leave the plan but it seems stupid when they charge you 45 for the phone a month plus the cost of the phone. What will it cost to stay on the family plan just to add the iPhone?
- I have music on my iphone that redownloads everytime even though I don't want it anymore? So I have some music that I purchased on my phone and I have since wanted them off my phone, I have tried deleting them off but every time I plug my phone into the computer they all redownload. I've gone to settings and everything and they are not checked off as songs that will download they aren't in any playlist I have and I have no clue how to make them stop downloading every time I plug my phone in.
- I have more than 5GB of iCloud used, and I pay for the 50GB plan, I don't really want to keep paying it. I don't want to lose my pictures th? I have more than 5GB of iCloud used, and I pay for the 50GB plan, I don't really want to keep paying it. I don't want to lose my pictures that I keep on my shared photo stream though. If I stop paying for iCloud will my shared photo stream pics/vids still always be available (forever)? Why do so, w videos and pictures not load on shared photo stream, does apple delete them? Where'd they go? I like google pictures to store my photos, but it's not HD. I have iPhone 6+
- I don't want to live on this planet anymore I think I'll just move to mars, but what should I take with me? I know my Iphone is useless up there, I was also thinking of bringing my PS3. What do you think?
