I don't want the future to come?

Ok, so I was going through some old stuff and I found some old VHS's ( movies like kittys, baby bears and puppies not that it matters) and then I thought about how everything is now Blu Ray and on iPhone and android not even DVD anymore, and I thought " eventually these VHS's will be like old operas to us in the future" My grandparents have a VHS player along with a DVD player. I like classical music and I thought "in the future composers like Mozart and Beethoven will be forgotten about" So I know this was a confusing question but please help me get over this.

Here is a secret I'll let you in on. VHS is already forgotten about.

As far as the other things, Mozart and Beethoven were too good to be forgotten about, just like Elvis. Heck I even bought 2 Elvis MP3's for my ipod (If I Can Dream / Kentucky Rain).

Quality just moves to new formats - plenty plenty Bach Brahms Beethoven on MP3

Beethoven and Mozart will never be forgotten. Sorry you are having a hard time getting over your VHS tapes, but that's progress. I've lost track of how many new formats I've had to purchase my favorite music on. You'll survive.

Thanks to digital technology, classical music will be around longer than your lifetime. It used to take up as much space as a hubcap to store a short classical piece. Now that same song can easily be stored on something the size of a short hair.

Change can be dificult to deal with sometimes, but it does have its perks.

Stay in the past! Just don't use as much modern technology as you might do now. If you like VHS's get something to play them on and keep it so you can watch them all. We can all sit around watching old VHS's, playing on out Tamagotchi's, listening to music on a Walkman and having stupid slidy or flip up phones.

Moses living thousands of years ago is still remembered today. Why shouldn't Mozart or Beethoven? For that matter, the positive footprints each of us imparts on this world within our sphere of influence, why should they fade just because they may not come with a name attached? The future comes, and it is the sum of causes effecting its emergence. Nothing perishes, it either transforms, like from LP to MP3, or if worth forgetting then is forgotten. BTW, convert your favorite VHS tapes to digital format while the technology still exists, trust me, being in the process of converting old Hi8 tapes to lossless video format is a pain when the Hi8 technology is no longer available, and… But I digress. Anyway, to help you get over it, as you ask, nothing worth saving perishes, merely transforms, nothing endures if not worth remembering, and, the nameless legacy each of us leaves behind either thrives if uplifting or likewise fades if otherwise. -Pat

The future never arrives, for when tomorrow arrives it is today
