I dropped my iPhone in water and I was wondering if there's a chance it might still work?

I dropped my iPhone 5C in the toilet, and immediately put it in rice. At first the screen was black with a few vertical lines lit up, but then it went out completely. After sitting in the rice for about five minutes, it started to vibrate and continued to do so for a few hours until, I assume, the battery died. Now when I try to plug it in it vibrates, and the screen remains black. I tried holding in both buttons, just one button, everything. I was wondering if there's a chance it could work when the water all dried up or if the vibrations meant it was done for. Any answers are appreciated.

The rice is a waste of time. I have daughters and have fought this battle quite a few times (as they trash their iPhones). Immediately you need to shake as much water off as possible. IPhones are relatively easy to open up (look on youtube). Open them up, shake some more and attempt to remove the battery. Then, use a hairdryer on a low setting and try to dry it as much as you can. Reconnect the battery. Plug in an see if it will charge and then try to turn it on. The key is to dry it out before you try to run power through the electronics.
