I dropped my iPhone in water and it is making sizzling noises. What do i do?
I know your suppose to turn it off. It had like 8% battery when this happened. Then, the battery percentage kept dropping fast. Every time I turned it off, it would cut right back on. Now, its dead. It was making sizzling noises.
RUB SOME BACON ON IT
Yeah you should've just tried to get the water out by slinging it then left it alone but it's probably done for now. Especially if it sizzling.
Turn off the Iphone, REMOVE THE SIM CARD, and put the Iphone in a bag of dry rice.
Look at this article for instructions on how to remove the card and how to place the Iphone in the bag: http://www.everythingicafe.com/drop-your-iphone-in-water-fix/2012/04/13/
Put it in a bag full of rice… FAST! Leave it in it for 2 days before you even think about turning it on again…
First you should had never turned it on, but don't worry it may not still be broken because Apple products are pretty sturdy and durable even with water, you should first turn off the phone and find a way to get dry the water out. Hair dryer it works but be careful because your phone might get damaged because of the heat. When using this do not directly put the heat in the phone but move the dryer left and right like the movement of a fan. Silica packs, these are the do not open, its poisonous in some products we but, but the more practical solution is to place the phone in a bag full of rice.both the rice and silica packs absorbs moisture.
Don't put your phone in rice that's stupid I can't believe that is the only solution available on the net, the rice solution does not stop your phone from corroding. What you should be doing is fill a glass with mentholated spirits and put your phone in it and leave it in there for about one minute, then take the phone out and blow-dry it on warm not hot for a couple of minutes and let it sit for half an hour. After that switch on your phone and it will be fixed with no corrosion at all. What I do if it is an iphone 3g or 3gs I take the screen of and put the 2 pieces in separately so when I blow dry it later it is fully dry in a couple of minutes and no need to wait half an hour if it's a 4g or 4s I take the back of and the battery and put the phone in mentholated spirits for a minute then when I blow dry it without the back on or battery it is dry in a couple of minutes. Mentholated Spirits evaporates quickly and when mixed with water it causes the water to evaporate quickly. I have been using this method for over 30 years on all electrical components I even use this method to clean water damaged components using a paint brush as well. Trust me it works especially if you do it right after your phone gets wet. The only thing is never attempt to switch your phone on while it's wet that's when you can cause major damage.

- My iPhone 4 started randomly making beeping noises? I just was sitting in the car and my mom said, "What's that beeping noise?" I listened closely and couldn't make it out. Later we heard it and I put my ear up to my only working speaker. I heard it beeping. I saw the silent button the side of my phone was pulled to the left so you could see the orange mark. I pulled it forward and I thought I still could hear it… Help!
