I dropped my iPhone in water - 3

I just dropped my phone in water about a minute ago(it's 9:25 PST). I hurried up and got it out dried it off as fast as I could. It was working fine until now. It keeps popping up "charging not supported on this device" and also I just found out the sound isn't working! Now I can't even listen to all the money I spent on my songs. Is there anything to help this? I was thinking I can back it up on iTunes? Would that help? I don't know I just need major help please.

{put it in rice and tmr go see the apple store (uncooked rice) don't try to open it up or dry it with heater

Put itr in a bucket of rice for 3 days

Turn it off and put it in uncooked rice. Rice soaks the water out of it. Worked for me

Blow dry it, take out the SIM card and put everything in a zip-lock bad with uncooked rice. Check it tomorrow, hopefully it works, this is what I did to my phone and it worked

First of all, because of itunes using iCloud, even if you ruin your iPhone, any music purchased on the device can be re-downloaded for free on any other device or on your computer. So your purchases are safe. As for your iPhone, it's pretty much a goner. If you have apple care, tell them the truth. If you are honest, they tend to be nice and replace your iPhone for around $200 instead of the full price.

  • I dropped my Iphone in water - no water damage showing on indicator? Here is the situation. I dropped my Iphone 5 in the toilet (I hadn't peed yet so all good there). Immediately switched it off, dried it and put it in a bag of rice. This was at about 6 p.m yesterday. This morning without turning it on I opened up the sim compartment to check the circle for water damage (checked online and apparently this is where to check for water damage). The indicator was white. It is back in the rice but I was wondering - when you think it will be ok to turn back on?

When I dropped it, I took it out immediately and dried it before putting it in rice but I didn't learn that I needed to turn it off until I got home about 2 hours later, so it's off now. Before I turned it off though, the sound was working perfectly fine and the screen could still be seen but very very faintly. Does anyone know what has happened or anything I can do to fix it because I believe apple doesn't cover water damage?
