I dropped my iPhone into the toilet and now it's acting weird?

So I dropped my iPhone 5s into the toilet, I managed to get it out after about 5 seconds of twisting and turning. I removed the case and dried it as best I could, including shaking any remaining water out through the speakers. While this was happening, Siri kept coming on randomly and I kept having to turn it off, however after I dried it it was fine. Though oddly my phone turned itself off later in the evening and I had to do the sleep+home button to turn it back on. Then when I woke up, my home button outright wouldn t work, so I turned it off and then tried to turn it back on. However, an iTunes logo with a charger symbol below it showed up for a good 10-20 minutes before turning back on. Home button still wouldn t work, and now the home button kind of works, however it doesn't act as it normally does. It sometimes turns on Siri, sometimes acts as if I double clicked, and occasionally works normally. Also as my home button started working Siri has started coming on out of no-where. What should I do? Will it pass in a day/week or will I have to get it checked out, or are there any tricks I can do from home? Preferably 1 or 3 as my dad would kill me if he found out I dropped it in water…

I would let it dry several days before using it. Otherwise take it to an apple store to see how much damage you did.

  • I dropped my IPhone in the toilet, and now my home button doesn't work? 2 days ago I dropped my IPhone 4 in the toilet, and pulled it out right away. I dried it off quickly and it was perfectly fine and nothing was wrong. But then last night, my home button started to not work unless I pressed it 10+ times… I have the accessible touch thing on, but I was wondering if could fix this myself?
  • Dropped my iphone in he toilet now it's in rice? So I dropped my iphone in the toilet 2 nights ago and I immediately put it in a bag of rice. I know that you're suppose to turn off the phone first but I couldn't because my screen wasn't working and I couldn't turn it off. At first the screen stayed on for a couple hours then it turned off. It's been like that ever since in the rice the whole time and it won't turn back on. Does this mean it's done? Or is there anything I can do please help
