I got an electric shock from my iPhone
So please let me start by saying that I'm a hypochondriac and I suffer from anxiety and depression so I have a tendency to other think things and I've had horrible electric shocks before which has developed into a phobia of plugs, wires etc.
So last night i was on my iPhone waiting for something to be downloaded. My finger nail on my right index finger touched the metal rim that's around the home button. I felt a horrible sharp electric shock for about 1 second. I don't have any burns but I did have extremely mild tingling on my finger and a little on the back of my neck. I have had electric shocks from the button before but nothing this sharp and I heard that it's normal to feel static shocks on your ihphone. I'm worried if I had buzzing paralysis or in other words if I couldn't let go of the electric shock. I didn't feel any buzzing and I didn't feel any shaking nor did I feel any trembling but as I'm a hypochondriac I over think things.
I just need reassurance and guidance from you guys. Thanks for reading.
P.S my phone wasn't on charge when this happened.
No worries. One day my husband was feeding a horse and his hand touched the electric fence while holding the apple to the horses lips and they both got electrocuted He claims it cured his pinched nerve. Trust me he and the horse got way more of a shock than you and your phone.
You can't suffer from anxiety. We ALL have anxieties, we ALL experience anxiety.
Anxiety is a reaction and a symptom, not an illness.
You, the hypochondriac, DO NOT BENEFIT from being coddled. You BENEFIT from the truth.
I'm not going to placate you and therefore exacerbate your anxiety disorder. DISORDER IS THE ILLNESS.
What you need is a splash of cool water to wake you up to the truth.
Here's some more truth:
The battery in an iPhone can't hold a lethal or even detrimental charge. You'll be fine.
I suggest looking up static electricity.
I doubt seriously that such would be due to a defective phone.
I was rotfl as I read this.
Nothing against you, I just hate! Apple like a sworn enemy… Except for very valid reasons.
I was working on my psychology degree when you were in diapers.
You'll live.
… And if you don't, it will cure your hypochondria.
- Where do you get the best shock absorbant cases for Iphone 5s? I mean like heavy duty rubber or silicone I guess in the case it were dropped on a hard surface. I looked on amazon
- Should I buy an iPhone 7 plus or electric drum set? I'm an experienced drummer in high school who wants to get a drum set for at home. I also have an s6 and want to get a new updated phone
- Is this little shock from an outlet something to worry about? I was trying to plug in an iphone charger. I was wiggling the plug around in front of the outlet. My fingers were touching both teh plug and the outlet, and I got a little shock that didn't really hurt, mostly just surprised me. The shock traveled about halfway up my elbow (probably 4 inches above my wrist.) Is this something to worry about? I think I'm completely fine, but I'm just making sure. It was my left hand. I mean, if I can type, I'm good, right?
- Is there a shock proof front and back iphone case? Is there a iphone 4 or 5 (or samsung galaxy s4) case that is shock proof and water proof where it snaps to the back then folds out on the screen with a strap so when it falls it protects the back and the front (screen)? (i drop my past phones ALOT and i accidently have the phone fall into the sink or get water in it lol)
