I got the iphone 6 from walmarts black friday deal and it states that it can only be used with straight talk. Anyway to unlock it?

I currently have at&t prepaid on my iphone 5s and love it because it ables be to go to Canada and have service when i need to go. I know straight talk only offers nationwide service. Any possible way to make this iphone 6 unlocked in any way?

Generally prepaid carriers require 3-6 months of continuous paid service before allowing the phone to be unlocked.

As the iPhone 6's price was subsidized by Straight Talk. Their unlock policy (see source link below) states that you must have the phone in service with Straight Talk for 12 CONTINUOUS MONTHS (as their policy states that your number can't be ported or cycled during that time) & must be done with 60 days of ending services with Straight Talk.

The phone can't be reported as lost or stolen during that time & you're only permitted to unlock ONE PHONE per 12-month period.

In the rare event that the phone can't be unlocked, Tracfone (the parent company of Straight Talk) will provide a partial refund (or credit towards a newer, unlock capable phone) upon trade-in.

The only exception to the unlock policy are military personnel being deployed overseas, which can have their phones immediately unlocked upon verification of deployment orders with the US Department of Defense.

This is part of the fine print that you agreed to upon purchasing, activating & using the phone. If you didn't agree to this, you had 14 days from the date of purchase to return the phone (per the standard "buyer's remorse policy" with cell providers) to get a refund… Which you're clearly beyond that time frame.

The only option you have is to check with Straight Talk & inquire about their international roaming services… Just don't be surprised if these get pricey (as costs are being passed between Straight Talk & the international carriers to you).
