I have bought a iphone 5 on ee and need to get it unlocked?

I wrung up orange/ee and the women said she would send me the code to unlock the iPhone but I was just wondering how do I enter this code? Do I need to put a orange sim card in the phone then ring up and enter the number to activate it or anything like that? Because when I was on the phone to the women she didn't take the imei number or anything so i'm just a little confused

She might be confused and thought that you would like PUK unlocking code (the one that unlocks your SIM if your enter PIN incorrectly 3 times)

iPhones do not accept any network unlock codes. The way they are unlocked is:
- your network provider (EE) will contact Apple with your IMEI
- Apple will add your IMEI into their "white list" database
- you connect your phone to iTunes (to communicate with Apple server)
- your phone receives information from Apple via iTunes that it is now unlocked

After the above procedure iPhone will never be locked again and will take ANY SIM-card

If its to unlock the sim to any network mine was done within so many hours, i didn't even have to enter a code. Check your emails etc or wait for a text if it don't work or automatically unlock just ring them back and they'll help you out.

My phone was locked to Tesco but i rang up and got it unlocked within 48Hr it automatically unlocked to any network.

Please help My phone is Factory Unlocked/Never locked model. Works with all GSM phone companies (ATT, T-mobile, etc). Will NOT work with Sprint, Nextel, Verizon, MetroPCS, etc.
  • Do i need to have an unlocked iphone to get service from Verizon? My parents are divorced and my dad was paying my phone, i was on his two year contract, halfway completed. He recently unactivated it and now wants my mom to pay for it. My mom does not want a contract. If i take the phone to verizon, will they help me set up another plan or not? Also would i need to unlock the phone before i take it?
