I have no memory to update my iPhone 4S to iOS 7?
Okay, so I went to Verizon since my iPhone couldn't connect to Wi-Fi and one representative told me that I needed to update my phone and I told her that I had no memory (only about 60 MB). She said that I'd need to update it through my computer, but iTunes is still saying that I must have 610 MB of free data. I texted my friend last summer all day every day of summer and that wasted about 8.7 GB on my phone whoops. I only have a 16 GB phone and since 3 GB are used for the data already on it, it was really 13 GB. 2.66 GB is used for my music, 161.3 is for photos, 1.93 GB on apps even though I only have 5 and 8.71 GB on "Other" with only 124 MB free. I've already deleted tons of old conversations, but it doesn't seem to do anything. I can't connect to Wi-Fi without the update making my phone pretty much useless (I can't use any apps I have, call people, text people, or download music). Any way I can get back memory? Is the update even necessary or can I connect to Wi-Fi some other way?
PS. I've already tried restarting my phone countless times and resetting it in order to connect to Wi-Fi again, but nothing gives.
Added (1). That's 161.3 MB, not GB.
Added (2). It's also telling me to "change my media sync options to make more storage available", but I'm not sure how to do that.
There's an easy solution.
YOU MUST DELETE WHAT YOU HAVE ON YOUR PHONE TO MAKE THE UPDATE. YES! YOU MUST MAKE THE UPDATE WITH YOUR PHONE.
I have an IPhone 4s, and the person who who you spoke with does not know how to use an IPhone 4s.
Well, your problem is you spoke with a female who probably does not even have an IPhone 4s, and she does not know how to use an IPhone 4s.
The IPhone 4s should come with a white cable to recharge your phone. The white cable won't allow you to connect your IPhone 4s with your computer.
PS
You make your IPhone 4s updates with your phone, and not with your computer.
- Is it worth updating to iOS 7 if I have an iphone 4 with only 8GB of memory? What I want to know is… Does it require 2.9GB of my 8GB allowance of space or does it simply require some spare room for the download and then I will still have loads of memory again after the update?
- Iphone apps keep going to sleep to save memory, I had a Iphone 6 with 16GB of memory so? I went into storage to free some up now have 256GB on my new phone how do I stop the apps from uninstalling or hibernating when not in use I can't find anything, Thanks in advance
- In the middle of an iPhone update and my iTunes won't recognise my phone in order to continue to update. Can I stop the update now? Neither the computer nor iTunes are recognising my phone and I've been working on his for an hour, I want to stop the update so I can go to bed, how can I do that? It's only at the stage where it has a symbol on the screen of the iPhone cable linking to iTunes
- If I update my iPhone software will it take up memory? Basically I have a 16GB iPhone 4s. If i only 3GB of memory left. I don't wan't to remove any of my current content. So basically, if i upgrade my iOS will it take up any of this remaining 3 Giga Byte?
