I have the iphone 4s and want the 5 can i upgrade and not get charged?

I want an iphone 5 but i want to buy from craigslist or a friend. I'm on att if i get their phone can i just pop the sim card in and its done (if its unlocked)? Would att find out? Will i be charged more?

If you are buying an unlocked phone off of craigslist or a friend… CONSIDER THESE THINGS>

1. Make sure the phone is actually unlocked…
2. Make sure the phone is GSM. This is very important. It must be a GSM phone and not CDMA or it will not work.

If you have these two things, then you are good to go. As far as ATT finding out… They really don't care. It is not illegal to do and you will not be charged at all. You can literally pop your sim card into any either unlocked GSM phone or any ATT phone and you will not be charged for it.

  • Not been charged early upgrade fee? I'm with Orange and did an early upgrade to get the Iphone 5. I was supposed to have £125 added to my next bill for upgrading early, but I've paid 2 bills now and the third has come through with no additional charge on it. Does this mean they are probably not going to charge me for upgrading?
