I live in Britain but I want an American iPhone 5?

Basically the iPhones there are so much cheaper than here and my friend lives in america so I wanna give her the money to buy one there and bring it back here

Once I have the American iPhone here in england what exactly do I need to do/buy to get the British phone service and internet like a normal english iPhone?

Iphone are 599 USD for a non contract Iphone. They are still locked to ATT (she'll need an ATT iphone in order for this to work properly) Verizon and Sprint iphones will work too, but they won't release the GSM lock unless you are a customer with them… So, like I said… ATT only… $599 USD… Plus tax… Lol lol lol

Then jailbreak it… Once jailbroken, unlock it via cydia app… Pop in your UK sim… Enjoy… Drink. Have a party.

In the US You have to buy on contract to get the deal.

They aren't cheaper here. They're $750 to buy an unlocked iphone.
