I'm looking to update my iPhone?

Right now I have an iPhone 4s. I'd like to update to the 5, or 5s, or 5c. How do I do that when my phone doesn't need to be updated? Can I keep my same number? How much does each of these phones cost to update?

First you would have to go to your carrier (Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile, etc) and find out when you can upgrade. If you aren't eligible for an upgrade then your carrier will probably charge you a fee to get an upgrade early. I know for sprint this fee could be up to as much as $200 but it depends on how far along you are in your contact's term. For example if I have a 2 year contract and decide to upgrade after 1 year, the fee they will charge would likely be around $100.In my opinion, I would just wait until your eligible.

You should be allowed to keep the same number as long as your upgrading with the same carrier. If you switch carriers then you would probably have to get a different number

As for the iPhone 5, you would have to check with your carrier because apple does not make them anymore.

  • Update stopped during ios update own iphone now phones broke I connected my iPhone 4 to my computer (iTunes) and started doing the update through iTunes. About five minutes into the update iTunes in my computer stops working, causing the update to of course stop working. Now my phone will not turn on. On the screen it is black with the 'charge symbol' as if it were low on battery and an iTunes symbol. I have tried turning my phone off and on, but of course it didn't respond.
  • New iOS 6 update, find my iPhone update? I don't like the new find my iPhone update is there a way to change back to the old find my iPhone but keep the new update? It's not showing locations like it used to and won't even how me major boroughs like Croydon. Streets are difficult to see, much smaller picture. General *** compared to the older version.
  • Is the iOS 6.1 update on iPhone 3 safe to update? On my first iPhone there were problems, and the update didn't help it wiped out everything and among other things had to get a new iPhone. The iPhone I have now works, so should I risk this update? It's a 3GS.
  • IPhone 3GS keeps restoring when update i try update to iOS6? It's my first time ever trying to update my iphone 3GS and when I tried to update it it kept telling me to restore my phone?
