I purchased a HP Envy 4500 printer recently. When I was setting it up

I noticed that it didn't detect a wireless network. I had placed my laptop nearby which was connected to the Net at the time, through my Clear Internet Service Provider. Clear is the name of the ISP company. It looks like I need to install a wireless router for the printer to be able to detect internet connection. The other option that was offered is to connect my laptop to the printer, through a USB cord. I soon afterwards went to a couple of stores and noticed that each USB cord sold (well, the brands I came across) were listed as geared to connecting to IPads, IPhones, etc. - none mentioned that they could be utilized to connect to regular PCs and/or laptops. Should I just purchase one of these cords or are there certain brands which list that they are adaptable to be utilized to connect to computers? I'd appreciate your feedback. I'm definitely looking forward to getting this printer to operate, lol.

I would say it is the basic standard usb cable, check the ports for connection shape

It is basic 2.0 USB cable. It can be bought locally. At times the dollar store or any the same type stores will sell them. Shop around for the cheapest price. Not necessary to pay over a few dollars the cheaper ones work as well as the expensive ones

The flat end goes into the computer port
