I reset an iPhone and it won't show up in iTunes?

And i can't take it to apple because i found it on the footpath and i'm scared someone might notice it and tell me its stolen then call the cops and yeah SOMEONE Please Help ME please

You have to plug it up to the computer and shut it off then hold the home button and lock/sleep button until it shows the iTunes logo and the USB

Did you try to hold the sleep button for about 10 seconds?
if you did then you would've seen the apple logo!
but it looks like the owner of the IPHONE has locked it through Find My Iphone app
