I've got a dead iphone on my hands?

My iphone 4 has been around for over a year and I just dropped it in the toilet for the first time ever. I got it within the second but it started to make my sound switch go berserk. I couldn't shut it off because it wouldn't let me, so I started blow drying it carefully. After quite some time, I gave it a break and it looked like it was starting to be ok again until the screen went black. I've done the rice and silica packets and vacuum cleaner tricks to dry it out. It's been 4 days since, and it is still dead. I put it in DFU mode took the battery out, tried a hard reboot, etc. I'm lost in options! I feel as if Apple is full of *** when they say things are beyond repair and you need to cough up more cash. So how do I make my phone work again? And if that is beyond question, is there a way I can get my unsaved pictures off of it? I have pictures of family I may never see again that are of value.

Of course if the phone is completely dead then it won't connect, but worth a try that way.

  • Why do my hands go numb while holding my iPhone? My hands oftenly go numb (more of a pins and needles feeling) while holding my phone for a while. Is this due to the radiation from my phone? Also, it's not the way I hold my phone because it goes "numb" in any position.
  • Why are my hands always sweaty? Every time I'm on the phone my hands always get sweaty! Why?! I'm not texting anyone I like the screen isn't hot? I always have to sit next to my fan and go on my phone! And I can touch the buttons because its a iPhone and when it wet or with a liquid on it it doesn't press what you want it to my house is cool AC is good I wonder what the problem is.
  • Which cell phone is the best hands down (Nokia Lumia 1020 or iPhone 5s)? I'm planning on getting a new cell and i can't make up my mind between the too. I love the camera on the Lumia and I love the design and how the messaging is on the iPhone 5s is. There are some parts on each cell that i love. Do you see my problem? Which cell should i buy? Which one is more worth my money?
