I want to buy a US iphone 5?

I have found out that the US iphones are alot cheaper than the UKs. I have a friend going to the US next month and he said he would pick one up for me so i was wondering if i bought one would i be able to put my new Orange Sim Card into it and use it over here?

Be careful as the Apple 4G network will not work in the UK. You will also need an unlocked phone which I don't believe Apple will like. If you need an iPhone 5 best to take out a contract in the UK. Having said that I've switched from an iPhone to the Samsung S3 as it a superior phone

It should work if you get it unlocked, get it done in America as it is cheaper there, whereas unlock in uk can cost a LOT, btw i heard if you buy a iphone in america it may be cheap however you have to buy the contract as well, but if ucan buy just the set then get it, yes America is defo cheaper for that esp the current $ to a £ value is 0.6.so for every £100 thats $162.42

once your iphone is in the uk, get giff gaff if you want like 250mins, unlimited text and internet for £10 a month. Thats a way bigger saving then actually buyin a contract in the uk plus the giff gaff thing is not a contract, its a standard package which can be renewed monthly, optionally

The thing is, iPhones in the US all come with the contract. You can't get an unlocked one from the apple store until some time (probably christmas -ish) unless your friend pays a trip to Canada! IPhone's are sold unlocked over there. I suggest you either wait for unlocked versions, or just get one from the UK.

Just go with UK ones. In USA its cheaper because it comes as a upgrade and networks may not support either.

NO it won't work in UK because all the iPhones for sale in the USA are carrier locked to networks, so no they won't work outside the USA.

There will be no unocked iPhones for sale in the US at the moment which is what you need, and anyway, if you purchased one in the US, there's no international warranty so there's nothing you can do.

You will have to wait because it won't work in UK.
