I want to learn to make an iPhone App?

So I have my mac and everything. It says it's not updated enough to download xcode or swift. What can I do? I really want to learn programming.

Either it runs it or it don't, not sure what you expect anyone here to do.

Update it?
What kind of Mac do you have? What year did you purchase it?

Look up Xcode on Wikipedia. It shows a comparability table for the various versions of Xcode and OSX operating systems. Also realize that older Macs can't run newer operating systems. The OS will tell you what the hardware minimum is.

  • Where can i go to learn how to make a dictionary like iphone app? I just want to make an app where one would enter a word and a phrase would pop out that was associated with that word. I guess i would need to build a database to store all of the info. I'm clearly new to this. I don't want to do this for a living i just want to make one app. It would be great if you could point me in the right direction or if you know yourself that would be great as well. Peace and blessings
  • What do I do if I want to turn off everything that can make my iPhone 4S make noise? I want to bring my cell phone into class with me, but last time I did that it started playing music and my friends Siri started working. I just want to bring it in class and not have to worry about having it start making noise and me getting ISS. Please* don't put down that I shouldn't be bringing my phone to class because I really have to. Anyway I want to know all the things I need to turn off in order for it not to make any noise at all.
  • What code do I need to learn to make an iPhone game application? Also, what do I need to use to make the app on my Windows computer? I'm making a game sort of like Temple Run.
  • Want to learn coding. C before Obj-C? And where to begin? I want to learn objective-C so that I can eventually get to where I can make iPhone apps. Would it be beneficial to learn C before Objective-C or would it just be a waste of time? Also, where should I begin with C/Obj-C? With books, YouTube videos, or what?
